Flemish Community Commission (VGC)

The Flemish Community Commission (VGC) gives form and content to the capital from the point of view of Dutch-speakers and is the competent authority for issues relating to culture, education, well-being and health.
The Flemish Community Commission (VGC) is the hub of the Flemish Community in the Brussels-Capital Region. It is the competent authority for issues relating to culture, education, well-being and health.

Remit and responsibilities

The Flemish Community Commission strives to improve the quality of life in the city, developing and supporting an open Dutch-speaking network of services and facilities in all areas of responsibilities.

The Flemish Community Commission is the competent authority in Brussels for matters relating to culture, education, well-being and health.

Institutions

The Flemish Community Commission comprises a legislative body (the Assembly) and an executive body (the Board).

Assembly of the Flemish Community Commission

The Assembly of the Flemish Community Commission is made up of the 17 members of the Dutch-speaking group in the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region and five substitute members (22 in total).

Board of the Flemish Community Commission

The Board of the Flemish Community Commission (NL) is made up of Dutch-speaking ministers and secretaries of state of the Government of the Region.
