parking.brussels has been created to implement the parking policy in the region and to ensure the functioning of the Regional Parking Policy Plan (PDF Format) (FR-7.93M/NL-7.90M).
Eleven specific missions have been entrusted to the Parking Agency:
- 1. Creating and updating a database containing information which is useful for developing the PRPS (regional parking policy plan) and PACS (municipal parking action plans).
- 2. Collaboration in drafting, providing opinions for and checking parking policy instruments
- 3. Drafting PACS at the request of municipalities
- 4. Preparing the assessment reports referred to in Article 23 of the Ordinance
- 5. Managing and controlling implementation of the street parking policy
- 6. Implementing the PACS enforcement measures
- 7. Building, purchasing, leasing, organising, managing and controlling all car parks entrusted to the Agency, including transit car parks
- 8. Concluding agreements with private or public parties for the provision of parking spaces for offices, companies, shops, etc.
- 9. Organising, managing and controlling a vehicle removal service if it is part of the remote scheduling system.
- 10. Developing a covered and public parking offering for bikes and motorbikes.
- 11. Developing a parking offering for environmentally friendly high-performance vehicles and car-sharing

Legal basisThe Regional Parking Pgency was created through the approval of the Order of 22 January 2009 (FR/NL) by the Ministry of the Brussels-Capital Region. The Order was subsequently modified by the Orders of 18 July and 12 December 2013 (FR/NL) on regulated parking spaces and special parking permits.
