Meeting with an OECD delegation at the Iris Tower
On 9 February, Brussels International welcomed a delegation from the OECD to the Iris Tower for a working session bringing together the relevant Brussels administrations, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Brussels Regional Public Service and the Office of the Minister-President.
This meeting took place as part of the OECD Economic Survey 2026, a biennial process aimed at analysing Belgium’s economic and social situation and formulating recommendations based on public policies implemented.
Constructive exchanges based on the OECD questionnaire
Under the coordination of Brussels International, the regional administrations completed the questionnaire covering:
- macroeconomic developments,
- public policies,
- industrial competitiveness.
This input served as the basis for in-depth discussions with the delegation.
Some questions focused specifically on the implementation of measures since the Opens in new windowOECD Economic Survey 2024, while others addressed:
- recent economic trends and outlook,
- financial stability, the housing market and indebtedness,
- the labour market and social policies.
The participating administrations provided valuable insights, clearly articulating and defending the interests of the Brussels-Capital Region within this international process.
Second exchange focusing on climate resilience
On 17 February, an additional online meeting was held between Brussels International, Brussels Environment and the OECD, dedicated to the topic “Enhancing Belgium’s climate resilience”.
