The Brussels-Capital Region’s design style guide

A single logo will not do in order to provide the Brussels-Capital Region with a strong identity. A rich visual identity remains necessary so as to represent the Region’s diversity.

A single logo will not do in order to provide the Brussels-Capital Region with a strong identity. A rich visual identity remains necessary so as to represent the Region’s diversity.

In 2012 this insight has led to the elaboration of a flexible system of “baselines”. This system enables the Region to communicate in both a serious and a somewhat more relaxed manner, on a local as well as on an international level and in different languages. This makes it possible to enter into dialogue with a whole variety of different target groups and at the same it provides an environment that fits everyone’s needs.

This dialogue thus becomes a logo which distinguishes itself by its high level of adaptability. The Region’s identity reveals itself throughout each baseline, both visually and with respect to content, in such a way that is immediately recognizable and at the same time multi-layered and entertaining.

The house style also offers two specific applications of the brand, one being reserved for the institutions of the Region and the other for partners who want to adapt their brand to the Region’s new image while still preserving their own characteristics.

Below you can find all information about the Region’s house style.
