Sustainable IT: an inspiring morning for the community led by Paradigm
On 8 October, Paradigm organised a meeting dedicated to the Sustainable IT community that we lead.
The morning provided an opportunity for rich discussions around projects combining technological innovation and sustainable practices.
After an update on the progress of Paradigm's Sustainable IT Initiative with Thierry Chappé and Constance Mathieu, three high-potential start-ups presented their ambitions for sustainable technology:
- External linkCitronics: microcomputers designed from reprogrammed Fairphone 2 motherboards at the end of their life cycle;
- External linkDimeritium – External linkSunflower: a local circular cloud, powered by solar energy, thanks to the recovery of IT components destined for disposal and integrated into servers housed in 3D-printed cases;
- External linkLevv: a sustainable cloud platform based on low-energy urban data centres, whose infrastructure recovers excess heat to heat social housing.
This meeting confirmed that at Paradigm, innovation and sustainability go hand in hand, opening up new perspectives for our future projects.
