A first for the CPAS in Belgium and for the municipality in Brussels: a chatbot powered by artificial intelligence
The CPAS and the municipality of Berchem Sainte-Agathe have each launched a new digital assistant, accessible 24/7, powered by artificial intelligence. A first in Belgium for the CPAS, and a first in Brussels for the municipal administration!
Of course, this is not about replacing human contact. As a guidance and information tool, the chatbot set up with the expertise of Paradigm complements existing communication channels (physical reception, telephone, email, websites) without replacing them.
The integration of artificial intelligence into local government has been studied since 2024 by Paradigm's IT unit on assignment in Berchem-Sainte-Agathe. The opportunity to strengthen citizen relations management through a chatbot materialised at the end of 2025 at the instigation of the CPAS.
