Working for the Brussels Fire Brigade

The work of our firefighter-paramedics forms the core of our service. But in our main fire station nearly 200 staff members also work hard to ensure everyone can operate under the best conditions.

We are the Brussels Fire Brigade. We respond to fires and manage emergency medical aid in the Brussels-Capital Region and its surroundings. But that's not all. We also perform other essential tasks, such as:

  • Locating and rescuing people or animals.
  • Rescue and aid during floods, storms, or chemical pollution.
  • Promoting fire-safe living.
  • Checking compliance with fire safety norms in buildings and at large events.
  • Preparing to provide appropriate assistance during major incidents.

Some figures

The Brussels Fire Brigade carries out 250 interventions per day, has nearly 1,200 employees, operates 200 vehicles, and runs 11 stations and firehouses across the Region.

More than just firefighters

We have architects, engineers, dispatch center operators, logistics officers, accountants, social workers, translators, recruiters, seamstresses, carpenters, lawyers, cartographers, IT specialists, mechanics… All our staff form a “rescue chain.” Each link contributes to making Brussels safer!

That’s why we are looking for people willing to give their best. Want a rewarding career with a meaningful mission?
