Working for the Brussels Fire Brigade
The work of the women and men in our teams of firefighter-paramedics forms the core of our service. But at our main fire station nearly 200 staff members work hard to ensure everyone can operate under the best conditions.
CAF-FGA Tests in 2026
Would you like to work for the fire service? Then you first need the Certificat d’Aptitude Fédérale (CAF) or Federaal Geschiktheidsattest (FGA) . This is the first step for everyone who wants to start – no matter your age, background or experience. Everyone is welcome.
Later this year, we will organise the CAF-FGA tests again in Brussels. The exact dates will be announced soon.

- Rescue and aid during floods, storms, or chemical pollution.
- Promoting fire-safe living.
- Checking compliance with fire safety norms in buildings and at large events.
- Preparing to provide appropriate assistance during major incidents.
