Safeonweb 2025 - Detect fraud before you click too far
Every year in October, the Belgian Cybersecurity Centre (CCB) launches its Safeonweb campaign as part of European Cybersecurity Month.
This year's theme is more crucial than ever: preventing online investment fraud.
Fraudsters are becoming increasingly ingenious in their attempts to trap internet users: attractive advertisements, fake experts, seemingly professional trading platforms... Their goal? To convince victims to invest in fake financial products, then disappear with their money.
In 2024, Belgians lost more than €16 million to this type of fraud, often linked to cryptocurrencies and online trading.
