Regional address register – Current situation and outlook
For many years, Paradigm has published the official regional address register for the Brussels-Capital Region. This register is an open data resource, accessible via our dedicated page.
Addressing information is also integrated into UrbIS background maps, which can be viewed on External linkdatastore, External linkMyPermit, Nova, External linkOpenpermits, External linkgeodata and other platforms.
The federal authorities have also decided to adopt this register, along with the Walloon and Flemish registers, in their own applications. This applies in particular to the management of residencies (national register), companies' registered offices (Crossroads Bank for Enterprises) and cadastral parcel addresses. The FPS Finance tool CadGIS Viewer already uses BeSt Addresses, making it the first federal application to integrate our data.
Recently completed developments
- Address, street and municipality identifiers now take the form of resolvable URIs, providing direct access to a resource (page, file). The use of resolvable URIs makes it possible to view information describing a resource and automatically link data between different systems.
- For example:
External linkhttps://databrussels.be/id/address/118652/1

New addresses and street names entered in the register on a daily basis are published separately as change files. Where applicable, they also specify which addresses or street names are replacing old ones.
Future developments
- HTML address pages will soon include a link to the associated cadastral parcel, also identified by a URL.
- A new geocoding service will go into production in early 2026. In line with the BeSt Address model, it will use official identifiers for addresses and street names. The External linkcurrent service will still be available for a transition period of a few months before being removed.
- Other federal administrations — such as the national register, the CBE and FPS Finance, for their non-mapping uses — are set to gradually adopt the BeSt Address register.
