Brussels All.In: What if Brussels shifted into a higher gear?
Brussels has everything it takes to succeed. As the country’s economic engine, it generates 17.3% of Belgium’s wealth with just 10.7% of the population, boasting a GDP of €103 billion and more than 720,000 jobs. It also benefits from a strong innovation ecosystem, with over 15,000 researchers.
And yet, the Region is slowing down. Its growth is weaker than in the rest of the country, job creation is lagging, and its employment rate remains among the lowest of European capitals (63.9% in 2025). Between 2003 and 2023, Brussels’ GDP grew by only 0.9% per year, compared with 1.6% in Wallonia and 2% in Flanders.
It is in this context that Brussels All.In comes in—the roadmap led by Minister of Economy and Employment Laurent Hublet. It sets out a new momentum to revive the Brussels economy and place Brussels residents at the heart of this transformation.
