MyAccess becomes a Regional Digital Solution!
The MyAccess platform, providing secure access to digital services, was recently awarded the status of Regional Digital Solution (SNR).
This certification, awarded by the Region, officially recognises that MyAccess is a reliable solution that is useful to administrations, and designed to be shared on a regional scale.
Its use is not mandatory, but it is now considered the preferred solution for secure access requirements.
Why has MyAccess become a Regional Digital Solution?
MyAccess is the regional identity and role management service for applications used by administrations in Brussels.
Becoming a Regional Digital Solution is the result of the platform's gradual development. Initially known as IAM, MyAccess was redesigned to better meet expectations: clarifying the service offered and defining a clearer framework for use.
This work was then submitted to Regional Governance, which confirmed that MyAccess met the expectations of the Brussels administration. In addition, a regional skills centre was appointed to support the roll-out of the solution, sharing their expertise on the platform and accessible at all times. The MyAccess platform was recognised as a Regional Digital Solution thanks to its business relevance, technical maturity and clear governance.
What is a Regional Digital Solution (RDS)?
A solution is said to be a "regional digital solution" if it meets a need shared by several public entities, is based on a solid infrastructure, and is strategically supported by the Region.
In other words, an RDS is a validated, controlled and supported solution, available within a clear contractual framework. It enables administrations to increase efficiency, reduce redundancies and adopt a common digital vision, providing access to a tested and approved solution that is available immediately.
What this means for (future) users
Labelling MyAccess as a Regional Digital Solution does not make it mandatory. Each administration is free to make its own choices regarding the technology it uses.
However, this recognition means that MyAccess is the solution recommended by the Region for digital access management, making it the first port of call when administrations are looking for a secure identification solution.
