- What made you want to work in tech?
I have always been attracted to fields where logic and reasoning play a central role, which naturally led me to study mathematics. That's where I discovered programming – it was a real revelation. I loved the way code can be used to solve concrete problems, and that's what made me want to make it my career.
- What was your career path and how did it prepare you for your current role?
I have a master's degree in mathematics, which gave me a solid foundation in analytics and logic. From the first year onwards, we had programming classes, which became increasingly important as the course progressed. Even though not everything was directly related to my current job, my studies gave me the reflexes and methodology I needed to quickly learn new languages, understand logic and evolve in a constantly changing technological environment.
I joined Paradigm (then CIRB) in October 2019 through the ACADEMIX programme, a three-month course for young graduates, combining training in the development team's methodologies and technologies with work on a concrete project as part of a team. This immersion allowed me to acquire a solid foundation and meet the teams before fully integrating the IRISbox product.
- What does your role as tech lead at Paradigm involve in practical terms?
As tech lead on IRISbox, I guide the development team on both technical aspects and work organisation. I ensure the quality and technical consistency of the code. I am a point of contact for other teams and facilitate communication to ensure a consistent overall vision of the product across the organisation.
But this role is also very human: I mentor and coach young developers, which is an integral part of my daily work.
- What motivates you most in your job?
What I appreciate most about my job is the opportunity to learn continuously and take on complex technical challenges. I love developing IRISbox and implementing common technical solutions that benefit all teams. This combination of technical demands, collaboration and concrete contribution to a product that is useful on a daily basis is what fascinates me the most.
- How do you see tech careers evolving in the public sector, and what advice would you give to young women who are interested in this field?
Tech jobs in the public sector have evolved significantly in recent years, and this transformation is accelerating. Government agencies are investing more in digital technology to modernise their internal tools and improve services to citizens. AI will also play an increasingly central role.
My advice to young women is: don't hesitate, go for it and believe in yourselves.
We thank Aurore for this inspiring conversation. Her career path shows how tech jobs can be engaging, multidisciplinary and open to everyone.
