Regional roads
Brussels has a large network of infrastructure dedicated to mobility: roads, squares, tunnels, bridges, the metro, etc. Depending on their location, their nature or the type of work carried out on them, these infrastructures are managed by different players: Brussels Mobility, local authorities, the STIB (Société des Transports Intercommunaux de Bruxelles), etc.
Collapses, damage to the road, broken lighting, falling trees, etc. You may be asked to report a problem on the road. You may also wish to make a suggestion concerning the infrastructure available to you for your journeys. You can get in touch with the following contact points.
Who manages which infrastructure?
Depending on the case, the roads in Brussels come under the authority of either the Brussels-Capital Region or the municipality in which they are located.
These authorities are responsible for infrastructure work, asphalting, repairs, road markings, traffic light management, winter spraying, etc. They also manage parking, safety and specific facilities for pedestrians. They are also responsible for parking management, safety, special facilities for pedestrians, people with reduced mobility and cyclists, public lighting, planting, installation of street furniture, etc.
For regional roads, you can contact Bruxelles Mobilité.
For local roads, find out in which commune the road in question is located, and contact the local authority.

Public transport infrastructure
The development and monitoring of infrastructure for regional public transport (metro, pre-metro, buses and trams) are managed by Brussels Mobility: structural work, finishing touches (painting, flooring), installation of equipment (escalators, electronic signage, lifts) and installation of works of art. These structures are the property of the Brussels-Capital Region, with the exception of the tracks, which are the responsibility of the STIB (Société des Transports Intercommunaux de Bruxelles). The STIB is also responsible for the commercial operation of the infrastructure put in place by Bruxelles Mobilité.
External linkInfrabel manages the entire rail infrastructure. It therefore manages, maintains, renews and develops the network, including the rail infrastructure located in the Brussels-Capital Region.
