Special benefits for the over-sixties

Senior citizens are also entitled to some well-deserved advantages. Cheap tram, bus and metro journeys in Brussels for example.

65+, cheap travel

In Brussels, the over-65s can use all tram, bus and metro services at a low price. On the STIB network (except the NATO-Brussels Airport stretch of services 12 and 21) with the External link65+ season ticket, on the TEC network with the External link'Horizon+65+' season ticket (FR) and on the network of De Lijn with the External link'Omnipas 65+' pass.

The over-65s also get External linkpreferential rates on the SNCB rail network.

Cut-price culture

Most museums and tourism activities grant reductions to senior citizens (the over-65s and in some cases the over-60s). Admission to the Cinquantenaire Museum, for instance, is just 4 euros rather than 5 euros. Visit the museum websites to find out more. And remember to take your ID with you when you go!

Mobility for all

If you have difficulty getting about or require special facilities, be sure to check out the 'Brussels for all' section. The External linkBruxelles Mobilité (FR/NL) website also devotes several pages to persons with reduced mobility.

The dedicated page for senior citizens in our Culture, tourism and leisure section is also a rich source of information on the activities and organisations, as well as a few of the advantages you are entitled to, especially with respect to public transport.
