Brussels Housing Corporation (SLRB)
SLRB advises, accompanies and controls the 16 local housing associations (LHAs) on all levels: technically, socially, financially and juridically. The organisation contributes to the development of the sector by building and renovating high quality housing, by financing the sector and by promoting social policies.
SLRB’s +-200 collaborators combine their efforts each day for the LHAs and the tenants and carry out the organisation’s values: quality, engagement and team spirit.
With a yearly budget of nearly 500 million euros, 80 construction projects in the making and almost 200 renovation projects, SLRB is the biggest real estate actor of the Brussels region. SLRB strives to attain the climate goals by investing in the renovation of the public housing stock and by protecting the green spaces that surround social housing sites.
By increasing and improving the quality of social housing in Brussels, while safeguarding the quality of public areas, SLRB reshapes Brussels.
Legal basis
The Brussels Housing Corporation was created by the Order of the Government of 24 February 1994 amending the articles of association of the SLRB (published in Moniteur belge on 1 April 1994). The Order of 17 July 2003 on the Brussels Housing Code stipulates the 25 tasks entrusted to the SLRB.
