Departments of Brussels Fiscality
Brussels Fiscality is composed of ten departments, each with its own roles and responsibilities.
Brussels Fiscality operates with a Front Office/Back Office structure.
Taxpayers mainly interact with Front Office case managers through the MyTax online platform, the service desks, the contact centre, email or letters.
These case managers answer questions and provide first-line support, such as:
- Setting up a payment plan on request
- Updating personal details
- Giving information and explanations about taxes
Backoffice staff handle files efficiently and manage the overall processes. They are responsible for:
- Deciding who must pay which taxes
- Checking payments
- Issuing refunds
- Preparing future tax policy projects
- Conducting legal analysis
- Verifying information sources and collecting data
- Sending and sorting letters
- Recruiting new staff
