University courses for all

Many universities run accessible lecture cycles and university courses for people who want to broaden their knowledge, particularly senior citizens.
Perhaps you are over 50 and have a successful career behind you or you are jobless and you are highly motivated to learn. Or you simply want to do something constructive with your free time and meet other people like yourself in the process. Ever thought of enrolling in a university course?

Many universities organise accessible lecture cycles and university courses. You can invest your free time in to broaden your knowledge. They are variously known as Université Tous Ages, Universités du 3e Age, Universités du Temps libre, Universités des Aînés and Universités du Temps disponible. These cycles and courses do not lead to a certificate.

  • The not-profit organisation 'Uitstraling Permanente Vorming' (UPV) (NL), part of Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Brussels Free University), is an institution of permanent education in Dutch specialised in scientific popularisation. It runs a range of educational activities in Dutch in the fields of culture and science.
  • The 'Universiteit Derde Leeftijd Leuven' (NL) is associated to the KU Leuven and offers lecture cycles on various themes and activities.
