Why has your property tax increased?

Here are the main reasons why: 

  • Indexation: The index is adjusted every year based on inflation. In 2025, the index is set at 2.2446, a 3.14% increase compared to last year. 
  • Municipal decisions: Some municipalities have voted to increase their additional percentages, directly affecting the amount you pay. Your municipality may also have changed or abolished the municipal housing premium.
  • Reassessment of your property's cadastral value: This may happen if you have made changes or improvements to the property.
