Registration of non-hazardous waste collectors, dealers and brokers
As a collector, trader, or broker, you handle non-hazardous waste and must have someone trained in waste management laws. Training is free and takes about 30 days. Appeals can be made through the College of the Environment.

As a collector, you transport or have transported this non-hazardous waste to licensed treatment facilities;
As a trader, you buy and sell this non-hazardous waste, even if you do not take physical possession of the waste;
As a broker, you organise the recovery or disposal of this non-hazardous waste for a third party, even if you do not take physical possession of the waste.
Requirements
Designate a person who is sufficiently trained in the knowledge of waste and waste management legislation, either by means of diplomas, certificates or attestations, or through equivalent professional experience (via exemption).
