Mobility Management Training

A practical training course that offers realistic and positive solutions for sustainable mobility within your company.

The Mobility Manager course is a very practical course that offers realistic and positive solutions to promote sustainable mobility within your company. The speakers are experts in mobility management and give the floor to stakeholders from the public, private and non-profit sectors. Each training day will also include testimonials from companies that have already carried out mobility campaigns to supplement the theory in as concrete a manner as possible and to promote an exchange of experiences with the participants.

For whom?

For everyone who considers Brussels mobility to be of paramount importance. We focus primarily on those responsible for drawing up a company transport plan.

  • Mobility Manager
  • Fleet Manager
  • Facility Manager
  • Corporate Social Responsibility Manager (CSR)
  • Human Resources Manager (HR)
  • Compensation & Benefits Manager
  • Prevention and safety advisor

Programme

The programme is spread over six training days.

Day 1: The key to a successful company transport plan

Mobility is an important part of our well-being and the community in a broad sense. That is why it is also a major challenge for the government and for company policy. The objective of the first day is therefore to present the key concepts for understanding contemporary mobility: the origins, causes and consequences of the problems facing our cities, our region and our companies.

Day 2: Project management – Preliminary analysis of your mobility plan

During this day, participants will learn to manage a mobility project within a company in cooperation with external partners. Special attention will be paid to how to determine a strategy and clear objectives, which are essential elements for change. The different phases (from drawing up the mobility plan to its implementation, follow-up and evaluation) will be discussed from the point of view of the mobility manager.

Day 3: The various measures - Part 1: the ‘active modes’, public transport, the New Ways of Working

The mobility manager has a wide range of measures at his disposal to realise a company transport plan. These will be studied and discussed: how can these measures be realised? Tips for implementation? Which tax rules apply? What is the expected cost-benefit analysis?

The analysis of the various measures is divided into two parts. The first part mainly deals with active modes of transport, but also with public transport and new ways of organising work.

Day 4: The various measures – Part 2: the car... differently

This day is dedicated to a new – sustainable – approach to managing car travel. Instead of merely limiting ourselves to encouraging alternatives to car travel, we can improve the results by encouraging other uses of the car: carpooling, sustainable parking management, management of business travel, visitor and goods flows, more environmentally friendly cars.

Day 5: Communication and awareness raising – Intermodal visit

Managing mobility also involves behaviour. Communication and awareness raising are a significant part of the daily tasks of a mobility manager. During this day, special attention will be paid to communication techniques and awareness raising campaigns with the help of practical exercises to familiarise participants with this approach, to learn the right tools and to learn the right reflexes. The second part of the day consists of a site visit to discover how the public transport network is organised, how intermodality is stimulated and to demonstrate the importance of harmonious management of public space.

This visit also allows participants to view concrete realisations of pioneering companies.

Day 6: In practice: ‘Let's get to work!’

The final day consists of a practical workshop that allows participants to present their design plan or the updated company transport plan. This exercise utilises the knowledge and experience gained. The outcome of this exercise can immediately help the mobility manager in his or her work.
