Student Housing

The Brussels-Capital Region is home to over 140,000 higher education students and is a magnet for intellectuals. As a result, the demand for student accommodation in Brussels increases every year.

Accommodation offered by institutions (universities and higher education colleges)

Most of Brussels' universities and higher education colleges have several accommodation options available on or near their campuses.

Such student accommodation (often called "kots" in Belgium) is allocated based on various criteria defined by the institutions themselves. For more information, contact the respective institutions:

Private accommodation

Some property owners also offer accommodation to students. In this case, they can choose to rent out their accommodation through a student lease or a standard lease.

Like all other rental properties, student housing must meet compliance standards (minimum requirements for safety, sanitation and facilities).
