University courses for all
Many universities organise accessible lecture cycles and university courses. You can invest your free time in to broaden your knowledge. They are variously known as Université Tous Ages, Universités du 3e Age, Universités du Temps libre, Universités des Aînés and Universités du Temps disponible. These cycles and courses do not lead to a certificate.
For French speakers
- The External link'Association Francophone des Universités deTous Ages en Belgique' (AFUTAB) (FR)is a general permanent education organisation. It represents the Universités Tous Ages in the French Community.
- Based in Brussels, the External link'Conseil de l'Education Permanente de l'Université Libre de Bruxelles' (CEPULB) (Council of Lifelong Education of the Université Libre de Bruxelles) (FR) is one of the oldest Universités du Temps disponible in Europe. The CEPULB is part of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and has around 1,900 members. There is no age restriction and you do not have to have particular qualifications. CEPULB members are recognised as senior students of ULB.
- The External link'Université des Aînés' (UDA) (FR) is a not-for profit organisation associated to the UCLouvain. Like the CEPULB, the Université des Aînés runs courses and lecture cycles for students of all ages, without special conditions.
For Dutch speakers
- The External link'Universiteit Derde Leeftijd Leuven' (NL) is associated to the KU Leuven and offers lecture cycles on various themes and activities.
