The responsibilities of Elke Van den Brandt

Elke Van den Brandt is Brussels Minister of Mobility, Public Works and Road Safety for Green in the Vervoort III government.

She is also responsible for social inclusion and health within the Common Community Commission ( COM ). As chairman of the Flemish Community Commission ( VGC ) she is responsible for budget, finance, welfare, pre-school and urban policy.

Between 2009 and 2019, Elke was a member of the Brussels and Flemish Parliament. During these years she worked to improve the quality of life of the people of Brussels in various areas such as health, childcare, housing, education and poverty reduction.

Elke studied communication sciences at the VUB. After her studies, Elke worked as an academic researcher on women's careers at the university. Elke is the mother of two children and lives in Ganshoren.
