Paradigm never stops: two more DPS certificates!

The number of digital public spaces (DPS) in the Brussels Capital Region is growing. After CybeRogier DPS, Watermael-Boitsfort DPS, NéVé AnderTech and DPS du Phare last March, it's now the turn for two new DPS in Anderlecht to be certified: DPS Cyber-Espace and DPS Haberman.

In June, the Digital Inclusion Working Group, which is made up of all the Brussels regional bodies and private players in the sector, gave its approval for the certification of two new public digital spaces in Anderlecht: the Haberman DPS, located at Rue Haberman 10, and the Cyber-Espace DPS, located at Chaussée de Mons 95.

A Digital Public Space (DPS) is a public space that makes digital technology accessible to the whole population. These spaces are right in the front line in the fight against digital inequality and are the most effective means of integrating people who are not part of the digital world. Beyond the use of basic Internet services, the Spaces promote public uses, particularly in the areas of e-government, job searching, access to knowledge, culture and training, and the promotion of civic participation.

Since 2019, DPS in the Brussels Capital Region have been able to apply for the "Digital Public Space acknowledged by the Brussels Capital Region" certificate if they meet the conditions in the DPS Charter [External linkfr][External linknl]. This certificate is a guarantee of quality and recognition for DPS that meet certain criteria: access for the general public, number of hours open, number of hours of training, the presence of a qualified facilitator, etc.
