Request for advice in the case of planning, environment and land use permits
Since 1 September 2019, the competent authority (the municipality, the Region or Brussels Environment) directly requests fire brigade advice for permit applications. You no longer need to do this yourself.
What are the different regulatory texts?
There are a significant number of texts enacted in the field of fire prevention, applicable in the Brussels-Capital Region. Most are listed below on the page Fire regulation.

Requests done by the authorities
The competent authority (the municipality, the Region or Brussels Environment) directly requests fire brigade advice for permit applications such as:
- urban planning permits,
- environmental permits,
- subdivision permits,
- and certificates.
Requests to do yourself
Are you applying for a modification of an existing environmental permit (Article 7bis)?
Then you must request fire brigade advice yourself in advance, and include it in your application file.
What should you do?
When submitting a permit or certificate request, please include:
- the fire safety advice request form, completed and signed;
- the descriptive sheet, filled in.
These documents help the fire brigade evaluate fire prevention measures in your plans.
