Our public services at your home!

Following the federal measures against COVID-19, we are advising against visits to the Brussels town halls. Several of them are fully closed and are only available via mail, app or phone.

 

Avoidance measures are currently the only way to fight the distribution of the coronavirus.


Please find below all ways through which you can contact your municipality. This page will be updated regularly.

Contact a municipal or regional government

The offices of most governments have been closed since 16 March, but all public services stay operational and are available by email, phone or with an appointment.

Covid-19 Grants

The Brussels-Capital Region supports companies which have had to temporarily close their doors and which are active in certain sectors of activity. Under certain conditions, they can benefit from a grant of € 4,000 per establishment unit in the Region. The grant request must be submitted by 1 June at the latest.

The Brussels-Capital Region also supports low-income tenants who suffer a loss of income with a single grant of € 214.68 per household.
A specific letter will be sent to the alleged beneficiaries so that they can have the necessary information to submit their request.

Mobility

As you know, the population have been asked to confine themselves at home. You may however be required to travel for essential reasons (food shopping, doctor, pharmacy) or for work (if teleworking is not possible).

In these cases, check that your method of transport is still accessible:

  • ...
  • Gracq (FR) and Provélo (FR) rent bike for free for those working in crucial sectors (helath, sanitary...)

In the event of using public transport, remember to clean your hands before and after use!

Shops

Many shops have set up delivery or takeaway services. Therefore, do not hesitate to contact your usual shop to find out what is possible.
 

Start-up

A new platform has opened: StartupVie. Here you will find all the Belgian start-ups offering free and concrete solutions to help families, freelancers and the largest companies, hospitals and even schools to overcome Covid-19.

You will also find mutual assistance platforms, online lessons for children, e-retailers, platforms for helping restaurants, etc.
