By bike

As a healthy and environmentally friendly alternative to motorised transport, the bike is one of the Brussels Government's mobility priorities.
Alone or in tandem, to the shops or to work, on the road or on cycle paths, the bike can take you anywhere! Just like walking, encouraging people to cycle is a priority of the Regional Government.

The Brussels-Capital Region has developed a bike action plan to encourage and facilitate the use of this healthy and environmentally friendly mode of transport in the city.

In this context, the Brussels cycle network is expanding all the time, with marked and signed bike routes, the introduction of new facilities and the implementation of priority zones for cyclists at traffic lights among other things.

The Villo! bike hire network continues to expand too, and now boasts around 180 docking stations.

Extensive information on cycling in the Brussels-Capital Region and future projects is available in the “Vélo” (bike) section (FR/NL) of the Bruxelles Mobilité website.
This website also publishes an interactive map showing Villo! availability in real time. It also includes biking routes, docking station locations and more. You can pick up a very comprehensive cycling map (FR/NL) (on paper) to plan your two-wheel journeys around the capital.
