The cobblestones of Schaerbeek

Art Deco/Art Nouveau/two-way mirror toilets

  • The Greenwich Café is the place to go for chess fans. It dates back to the start of the 20th century, and it almost crumbled away. But after being bought up by a Dutch investor and patron, it has been reopened.
Almost every table has a chessboard for those who want to play. But the café is also interesting for the original architecture... of its toilets, located in the basement.
Rue des Chartreux 7, 1000 Brussels
  • Another unusual lavatory: the toilettes at Belga Queen.
All the doors are transparent... and become opaque when locked from inside! A bit like two-way windows: customers love them!
    Rue Fossé-aux-Loups 32, 1000 Brussels
