Several organisations look forward to showing you another side to Brussels:

• Formed at the instigation of the Region’s Direction des Monuments et Sites (DMS, monument and sites directorate), Classes du Patrimoine organises free open days to give youngsters the chance to explore the built heritage in their neighbourhood and in the historic heart of Brussels.
• With JES ('Jeugd en Stad') you can pick a theme to explore one aspect of the city with other young people (NL) : Manneke and Jeanneke, the chic and the antique or Viva Europa.
• Explore Brussels’ graffiti on foot (NL). Graffiti (the organisation) is there for young people who go for street art in a big way. Check out the best tags in town along the north-south axes.

Living in Brussels

There’s plenty for young people to do in the Brussels-Capital Region. Every commune has its own youth service and youth advisers, who organise a wide range of activities.

The Service de la Jeunesse de la Communauté française (FR) (for French speakers) and the Jeugddienst van de Vlaamse Gemeenschapscommissie (NL) (for Dutch speakers) can answer any questions relating to young people.

brusselbazaar.be is an initiative of the youth service of the Flemish Community Commission (VGC). The website gives an overview (by theme or location) of the Dutch-speaking leisure activities for young people in Brussels.

The website of ideji asbl, Le Kid (FR), provides the list of all workshops for children aged 2 to 18 years old.

The cultural centres also run activities at a low price or free of charge.
