The Brussels Planning and Heritage documentation centre

The Brussels Planning and Heritage Documentation Centre brings together, manages and provides its officials and a specialist public with documentary resources concerning the history of the Region, the cultural heritage, archaeology, regional planning and development.

Created to meet the Administration's needs, it mainly comprises a library of more than 19,500 books and about 31,200 periodicals, including certain ancient reviews. It also offers access to certain studies, files or archives produced or assembled by Brussels Planning and Heritage. It also contains a large iconographic collection concerning the regional heritage.

Every year, the Documentation Centre receives about 1,000 visitors (285 of which are external) and manages about 1,000 book or periodical loans and 700 requests to consult files and studies. It recently integrated the collection of books and reviews from the library of the Royal Commission of Monuments and Sites.  It also provides access to the Commission's files.

The Documentation Centre is accessible by appointment only. The consultation of works by external visitors is only possible on-site.
