Direction de l’Audit interne

The internal audit directorate is tasked with providing support to the executive staff of the Brussels Regional Public Service.
The Direction de l'Audit interne (DAI, internal audit directorate) is tasked with providing support so that executive staff of the Brussels Regional Public Service (BRPS) are able to achieve the goals of the organisation and improve how it works.

The internal audit is an independent review at the BRPS. The DAI assesses the performance of internal control on the basis of sporadic inspections at the various services.

The goal of the DAI is to make recommendations that help executive staff to achieve the organisation’s targets and improve risk management and the performance of their internal control mechanisms.

Tasks are selected on the basis of a risk analysis and performed in accordance with an audit plan approved by an audit committee made up of independent experts and representatives of the Government and the BRPS.

The DAI can be tasked with compliance audits (analysis of the compliance of the activities and procedures with legislation, directives and regulations), operational audits (analysis of the activities, systems and controls in the organisation based on the 3Es – economy, efficiency and effectiveness), financial audits (audits of financial statements), special tasks and investigations.
