Who are we

The BRPS prepares and executes regional policy in a coherent, efficient and transparent way to guarantee high-quality service to Brussels citizens and businesses in a context of sustainable development and respect for public service values.

The general tasks of the Brussels Regional Public Service are as follows:

  • Promoting economic development and job creation
  • Developing the public space and managing mobility and built heritage facilities
  • Guiding the development of the territory by means of urban planning, good quality housing, urban renewal and protection of architectural heritage
  • Managing public funds and collecting regional taxes
  • Organising, advising, monitoring and financing the local authorities
  • Providing effective representation of the BRPS in national, European and international bodies and integrating the role of Brussels as the capital of Europe
  • Coordinating the actions of the administrations and assisting them on the basis of an appropriate human resources policy in an infrastructure of good quality
