Advice and Appeals Directorate

The Advice and Appeals Directorate is a cross-cutting directorate of Brussels Planning and Heritage (formerly Brussels Urban Development) which offers internal and external legal support.

In this context, it ensures the following missions:

  1. The processing of appeals against decisions to grant or refuse urban development permits taken by initial authorities (municipality or planning officer), for the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region
  2. The processing of appeals submitted against the decisions of the sanctioning official concerning planning infringements
  3. Legal support in these fields for other Brussels Planning and Heritage Directorates
  4. The monitoring among the Region's lawyers of litigation before the Council of State or judicial courts for these areas
  5. The gathering and sharing of judicial knowledge within the Administration, in particular via its virtual judicial library called Jurbi.
